The Backstory

Five years ago, a new client tasked me with a seemingly impossible brief.

“We want to create a new revenue stream and need you to appoint and train a sales team.” said their ambitious CEO, “oh, and one other thing, you can’t use the word “sales”, it petrifies them.”

  • These were a young group of professionals with no sales experience, suddenly tasked with needing to grow business. They were intimidated, totally out of their comfort zone and eager to learn.

    I had to find a way.

    Reflecting on my own burnout experience, I knew there had to be a smarter, more sustainable way of working. One which would challenge the traditional thinking of corporate minds focused solely on winning, and outcomes. The relentless pressure of achievement and comparison causing emotional havoc and self-doubt in a sales professional’s mind.

    It could break humans through the process. It did me, in the end.

    My hypothesis: performance of revenue raising roles would flourish within a methodology focused on what was within a sales professional’s control - the process and efforts required to build a trusted customer connection.

    Momentum Mindset™ is a methodology focused on what a sales professional can control, rather than what is out of their control – the numerical outcome.

    It’s a methodology which is sustainable over years, delights customers, and delivers corporate results.
